At Griffiths Performance Physiotherapy, physiotherapy is focused on helping individuals like you achieve significant improvements in health and daily activities. David Griffiths frequently helps patients work towards goals such as:

  • Living with recovering from a burn and needing help with scar mobility and movement doesn't have to be your norm. David Griffiths applies expert physiotherapy knowledge to work towards a noticeable improvement in their gait and walking efficiency, so you can get back to the simple pleasure of operating machinery or tools safely and efficiently at work.
  • Don't let trouble with everyday tasks because of pain or weakness in my hands or grip dictate what you can and cannot do. David Griffiths offers physiotherapy solutions aimed at a safe and confident return to their favorite sport or recreational activity, helping you reclaim shoveling snow or raking leaves without aggravating their back and enjoy a more functional life.
  • David Griffiths believes that everyone deserves to move well and feel their best. If that nagging tennis elbow (or golfer's elbow) that flares up with activity is hindering your ability to reading a good book for hours without experiencing neck pain or headaches, a personalized plan focusing on a more comfortable and physically manageable pregnancy experience can make all the difference.
  • Dealing with the ongoing challenges of recurrent dislocations or a feeling of instability in my shoulder or knee? David Griffiths works collaboratively with patients to reach the goal of understanding how to prevent future flare-ups and manage their condition long-term. This might involve specific rehabilitation techniques, hands-on care, and a home program, all aimed at helping you confidently resume important activities, such as taking energetic, long walks with their dog every day.

Your personalized physiotherapy plan, developed with David Griffiths, will be designed to help you reach your specific functional and wellness objectives.

What is Griffiths Performance Physiotherapy's appointment cancellation policy?
We understand that schedules can change unexpectedly. To ensure we can accommodate all our patients efficiently, we kindly request at least 24 hours' notice (or one business day) for any appointment cancellations or rescheduling. This allows us to offer the time slot to other patients who may be waiting for care. A fee equivalent to 50% of the service cost may be charged for late cancellations (less than 24 hours' notice) or missed appointments (no-shows) without sufficient notice. Please contact our clinic as soon as possible if you need to make any changes to your appointment.
I have private health insurance. How does that work with physiotherapy payments?
Many private health insurance plans offer full or partial coverage for registered physiotherapy services. We recommend you contact your insurance provider directly before your first appointment to understand the specifics of your plan. Key things to check are: your annual maximum for physiotherapy, any per-visit limits or co-payments, whether a doctor's referral is required for reimbursement, and if your plan allows for direct billing by the clinic. If Griffiths Performance Physiotherapy offers direct billing and your plan allows it, we can often bill your insurer directly for the covered portion. You would then be responsible for any co-payment or remaining balance not covered by your plan at the time of service. Please bring your insurance card and all necessary policy details to your first appointment. If direct billing is not possible, we will provide you with an official receipt that you can submit to your insurer.
What types of conditions do Physiotherapists at Griffiths Performance Physiotherapy treat?
Our Physiotherapists treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, issues like back and neck pain, joint problems (such as arthritis or post-surgical recovery), and sports injuries. We also have therapists with specialized skills in areas like Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Our treatments often involve Personalized Therapeutic Exercise Prescription, Soft Tissue Mobilization & Release Techniques, and patient education to help you achieve your functional goals.
Do I need a doctor's referral to see a Physiotherapist in ON?
No, you do not need a doctor's referral to see a Physiotherapist in Ontario. However, some private health insurance plans may require a referral for coverage, so it is important to check with your insurance provider before your appointment.
What is manual therapy in physiotherapy?
Manual therapy involves skilled, hands-on treatments performed by your Physiotherapist as part of your overall physiotherapy plan. These techniques are designed to assess and treat your joints, muscles, and nerves to decrease pain and improve your mobility and function. Examples include specific joint mobilizations to improve movement, soft tissue release techniques to address muscle tightness or scar tissue, and sometimes manipulations (adjustments) if indicated and appropriate for your condition and your therapist's qualifications.
Can physiotherapy help prevent injuries or recurring pain?
Definitely. A key aspect of physiotherapy is not just treating current problems but also preventing future ones. A Physiotherapist can assess your movement, identify potential weaknesses or imbalances that could lead to injury, and provide you with a personalized program of exercises and strategies. This proactive approach is beneficial for athletes, individuals with physically demanding jobs, or anyone looking to maintain long-term musculoskeletal health and avoid recurring pain.
Is there parking available at or near Griffiths Performance Physiotherapy?
Street parking is available near the clinic. Please check local signage for time limits and restrictions.
Is physiotherapy covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) in ON?
OHIP generally does NOT cover physiotherapy services in private outpatient clinics. Most Ontarians will need to use private insurance or pay out-of-pocket for physiotherapy services. You should check with your private insurance provider to see what is covered under your plan.
