As an anesthesiologist, he is dedicated to providing relief from pain, including the total care of a surgical patient right before, during and after surgery. He is responsible for providing both medical management and anesthetic care for patients throughout the entire duration of the surgery. He also carefully matches the patients anesthetic needs to the medical condition, and other requirements for the surgery.
Because of the presence of an anesthesiologist, patients going through surgery are shielded from the actual pain involved during the process. Everything is taken care of, before, during, and after the surgery. Patients are also monitored and assessed continually as they further regain consciousness. Patients are also provided with the appropriate postoperative pain relief, thus ensuring the well-being and comfort of the patient.
