- What is that 'cracking' or 'popping' sound during an adjustment?
- The audible release sometimes heard during a chiropractic adjustment is simply the sound of gas being released from the joint capsule as it is gently stretched. It's perfectly normal and doesn't hurt. The important thing is the restoration of movement, not the sound.
- Is chiropractic care covered by Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) in ON?
- Generally, OHIP does not cover chiropractic services in private clinics for most residents. There are very limited exceptions, such as care provided within certain community health centers or family health teams with integrated chiropractic services, but these are rare. Patients are advised to check their private insurance for coverage details and confirm with their provider.
- Is there parking available at or near WIN Health Performance Centre?
- Yes, there is free patient parking available directly in front of or behind our building. Limited street parking may also be available nearby, and paid parking options are accessible in the public parkade located one block east of our clinic.
- Do chiropractors only treat back pain?
- While chiropractors are well known for effectively treating back pain, their scope extends to a wide range of neuromusculoskeletal conditions affecting the entire body. This includes issues with the neck, shoulders, hips, knees, feet, headaches, and problems involving muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves throughout the extremities.
- Do I need a doctor's referral to see a Chiropractor in ON?
- Chiropractors are primary contact healthcare professionals, meaning patients can book an appointment directly without a referral from a medical doctor. However, some private or extended health insurance plans may require a referral for reimbursement purposes. Patients should check their individual insurance policies for specific requirements.
