- What are Team Rehab's operating hours?
- Team Rehab is typically open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some early morning or evening appointments available on select days. We may also offer Saturday appointments from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Please call our office at (519) 736-1234 or check our website for the most current hours and specific practitioner availability.
- What is that 'cracking' or 'popping' sound during an adjustment?
- That sound is a common and usually harmless phenomenon called joint cavitation. When a joint is gapped during an adjustment, the pressure inside the joint decreases, allowing dissolved gases in the joint fluid to form a bubble, which then quickly collapses, creating the 'pop'. It doesn’t mean bones are cracking, and many effective adjustments occur without any sound at all.
- Do I need a doctor's referral to see a Chiropractor in ON?
- Chiropractors in Ontario are primary contact healthcare professionals, meaning patients can book an appointment directly without a referral from a medical doctor. However, some private or extended health insurance plans may still require a doctor’s referral for reimbursement purposes. Patients should verify the specifics of their insurance policies.
- What is Team Rehab's appointment cancellation policy?
- We understand that life happens! However, to ensure we can accommodate all our patients, we kindly request at least 24 hours' notice for any appointment cancellations or rescheduling. Appointments missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make changes.
- Is chiropractic care covered by Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) in ON?
- Generally, OHIP does not cover chiropractic services in private clinics for most of the population. There may be very limited exceptions through specific government programs or if care is delivered within a Community Health Centre or Family Health Team that has integrated chiropractic services, but this is rare for private practice. Patients are advised to check with their private insurance plans for coverage.
- What does a chiropractor mean by a 'subluxation' or 'joint restriction'?
- A subluxation or joint restriction is a term used to describe a joint that is 'stuck' or not moving as it should. This can cause pain, stiffness, and interfere with the nerves that pass nearby. Chiropractors are trained to identify and correct these dysfunctions through adjustments.
