As an allergist/immunologist, she is dedicated to diagnosing or treating immunologic or allergic conditions. This includes diagnosing medical conditions and treating chronic disorders or diseases. She also orders or performs diagnostic tests including skin pricks, as well as patch, intradermal or delayed hypersensitive tests. The task also educates patients about prognoses, diagnoses or treatments.

Patients are helped by an allergist or immunologist as they receive personal assistance, emotional support, medical attention, as well as other personal care. They are not just trained to diagnose and treat, but also help patients in managing and further preventing immune system disorders including immunodeficiency diseases and autoimmune disease.
