At Generations Sport and Spine Physiotherapy, physiotherapy is focused on helping individuals like you achieve significant improvements in health and daily activities. Antonio Bruni frequently helps patients work towards goals such as:
- When feeling 'off-balance' and worried about falling, especially as I get older is limiting your lifestyle and preventing you from doing running their usual 5k route without knee pain, physiotherapy with Antonio Bruni can help you work towards the ability to sit for longer periods (e.g., at a desk, in a car) without significant discomfort. The aim is to restore optimal function so you can comfortably and safely return to the things you love.
- Many find that recovering my strength and energy after being very sick (like with pneumonia or Long COVID) significantly impacts their ability to attending and enjoying their children's or grandchildren's sporting events. Antonio Bruni helps patients target enjoying less stiffness in the mornings and throughout the day with physiotherapy, making a return to these activities possible.
- Are you finding that persistent dizziness that isn't a spinning vertigo but makes me feel unsteady stops you from enjoying challenging myself with indoor or outdoor rock climbing? Antonio Bruni is dedicated to helping patients like you achieve feeling significantly stronger and more capable in their physical abilities through a hands-on, active approach to physiotherapy.
- Living with recovering from surgery to my hand or wrist doesn't have to be your norm. Antonio Bruni applies expert physiotherapy knowledge to work towards reduced muscle tension and a feeling of greater physical ease, so you can get back to the simple pleasure of giving presentations or speaking publicly with confidence and good posture.
Your personalized physiotherapy plan, developed with Antonio Bruni, will be designed to help you reach your specific functional and wellness objectives.

- I have private health insurance. How does that work with physiotherapy payments?
- Many private health insurance plans offer full or partial coverage for registered physiotherapy services. We recommend you contact your insurance provider directly before your first appointment to understand the specifics of your plan. Key things to check are: your annual maximum for physiotherapy, any per-visit limits or co-payments, whether a doctor's referral is required for reimbursement, and if your plan allows for direct billing by the clinic. If Generations Sport and Spine Physiotherapy offers direct billing and your plan allows it, we can often bill your insurer directly for the covered portion. You would then be responsible for any co-payment or remaining balance not covered by your plan at the time of service. Please bring your insurance card and all necessary policy details to your first appointment. If direct billing is not possible, we will provide you with an official receipt that you can submit to your insurer.
- Is physiotherapy covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) in ON?
- OHIP generally does NOT cover physiotherapy services in private outpatient clinics for most of the population. Publicly funded physiotherapy is available in specific situations (e.g., post-hospitalization for certain conditions, for children/youth, seniors, or through Community Physiotherapy Clinics/Family Health Teams), but eligibility criteria are strict and there may be waitlists. We strongly advise checking your private insurance for private clinic coverage.
- Do I need a doctor's referral to see a Physiotherapist in ON?
- Patients in ON can typically see a Physiotherapist directly without a physician's referral (direct access). However, some private/extended health insurance plans require a referral for reimbursement. Check your insurance policy before your first appointment.
- Is physiotherapy treatment supposed to be painful?
- While some techniques might feel uncomfortable or cause temporary soreness, it should not be excessively painful. Your Physiotherapist will discuss sensations and adjust intensity to ensure your comfort.
- Will I be given exercises to do at home?
- Absolutely! Home exercises are vital for your recovery. Your Physiotherapist will select and teach you exercises specific to your needs.
