Do I need a doctor's referral to see a Chiropractor in ON?
In Ontario, chiropractors are primary contact healthcare professionals, meaning you can book an appointment directly without a referral from a medical doctor. However, some private or extended health insurance plans may still require a doctor's referral for reimbursement purposes. It’s advisable to check the specifics of your insurance policy.
Is there parking available at or near Lumley Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Centre?
Yes, there is free patient parking available directly in front of or behind our building, making visits convenient for our patients.
What is chiropractic care and how can it help me?
Essentially, chiropractic care helps your body move and function better. Your Chiropractor will assess your spine and other joints for restrictions or misalignments that might be causing pain or affecting your nervous system. Through precise adjustments and other treatments, they aim to improve your mobility, reduce pain, and enhance your overall well-being, allowing you to get back to your daily activities.
What are Lumley Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Centre's operating hours?
Our clinic is typically open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some early morning or evening appointments available on select days. We may also offer Saturday appointments from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Please call our office or check our website for the most current hours and practitioner availability.
Is chiropractic care covered by Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) in ON?
In Ontario, OHIP generally does NOT cover chiropractic services in private clinics for most of the population. There may be limited exceptions through specific government programs or if care is delivered within a Community Health Centre or Family Health Team that has integrated chiropractic services, but such cases are rare. It is advisable to verify your coverage with your private insurance provider.
What kind of clothing should I wear to my chiropractic appointment?
It’s best to wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that allows for ease of movement. Athletic wear, leggings, comfortable pants, and a t-shirt are generally good choices. This allows your Chiropractor to easily assess your posture and movement, and perform any necessary examinations or treatments. You may be asked to change into a gown for certain parts of the examination if needed.
