Achieving Your Health Goals with Physiotherapy Care

At Kinetic Labs, physiotherapy is focused on helping individuals like you achieve significant improvements in health and daily activities. Kyle frequently helps patients work towards goals such as:

  • Through personalized physiotherapy at Kyle's clinic, common concerns like clicking, popping, or pain in my jaw (TMJ issues) when I eat or talk are thoroughly assessed and addressed with the objective of enhanced ability to participate in social and community events. This often involves a combination of in-clinic treatment, education, and self-management strategies, helping people to once again enjoy activities like returning to dancing, whether it's ballet, salsa, or just for fun.
  • The path to recovery from hip pain when I walk, climb stairs, or try to sleep on my side and achieving decreased frequency and intensity of headaches related to neck or postural issues for keeping up with their team during our weekly soccer match often starts with expert guidance. Kyle, a skilled physiotherapist, provides just that.
  • Rediscover your ability to driving for longer periods without neck or back pain without the constant burden of difficulty with fine motor skills like buttoning shirts or writing due to hand pain. Kyle focuses on evidence-based treatment plans that lead to reduced muscle tension and a feeling of greater physical ease, integrating various therapeutic techniques for optimal and lasting results.
  • Kyle believes that everyone deserves to move well and feel their best. If feeling like my joints are just 'wearing out' and getting harder to move is hindering your ability to being able to carry their baby or toddler without straining their back or arms, a personalized plan focusing on a significant improvement in their overall quality of life and daily well-being can make all the difference.

Your personalized physiotherapy plan, developed with Kyle, will be designed to help you reach your specific functional and wellness objectives.

Frequently Asked Questions about Physiotherapy in Toronto

What is Kinetic Labs's appointment cancellation policy?
We understand that schedules can change unexpectedly. To ensure we can accommodate all our patients efficiently, we kindly request at least 24 hours' notice (or one business day) for any appointment cancellations or rescheduling. This allows us to offer the time slot to other patients who may be waiting for care. A fee equivalent to 50% of the service cost may be charged for late cancellations (less than 24 hours' notice) or missed appointments (no-shows) without sufficient notice. Please contact our clinic as soon as possible if you need to make any changes to your appointment.
What should I do if my condition seems to worsen after a physiotherapy session?
Some temporary post-treatment soreness can be normal, much like after a good workout. However, if your pain significantly worsens, if you develop new concerning symptoms, or if the discomfort doesn't settle down within a day or two, please call us. Your Physiotherapist would want to know so they can offer guidance and make any necessary adjustments to your care plan. Open communication is key to your successful recovery.
What types of conditions do Physiotherapists at Kinetic Labs treat?
Our Physiotherapists treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, issues like back and neck pain, joint problems (such as arthritis or post-surgical recovery), and sports injuries. We also have therapists with specialized skills in areas like Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Our treatments often involve manual therapy, exercise prescription, and patient education to help you achieve your functional goals.
Will I be given exercises to do at home?
Absolutely! Home exercises are a vital part of your rehabilitation journey and empower you to take an active role in your recovery process. Your Physiotherapist will carefully select and teach you exercises specific to your needs. These exercises help to reinforce what's done in the clinic, manage your condition effectively, and ensure you continue progressing towards your goals even when you're not in a session.
Do I need a doctor's referral to see a Physiotherapist in ON?
In Ontario, you can typically see a Physiotherapist directly without a physician's referral (direct access). However, some private/extended health insurance plans may require a referral for reimbursement. Check your insurance policy before your first appointment.
Is there anything specific I should bring to my first physiotherapy appointment?
It's helpful to bring your health card, any referral letters, and any reports or images from relevant medical tests. If you have private insurance, please bring your insurance card or policy details. Comfortable attire that allows for easy movement is also recommended.
Is physiotherapy covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) in ON?
OHIP generally does NOT cover physiotherapy services in private outpatient clinics. Publicly funded physiotherapy is available in specific situations (e.g., post-hospitalization), but eligibility criteria are strict. Check your private insurance for coverage.
